Beacon on the Road is an ongoing programme of work that brings the magic of theatre, dance and music directly to local community settings across Inverclyde. Beacon on the Road aims to widen access to the arts, making workshops and performances more inclusive for audiences. We love taking Beacon on the Road to the wonderful community hubs in Inverclyde.
Our recent festive tour was specifically programmed to offer something for all ages and included new work by local artists such as The Elves and the Shoemaker, a new and colourful production for early years; based on Grimms’ classic fairy-tale performed with four actors, two puppets, and a beautiful set created by Inverclyde Shed. Audiences young and old loved the revival of a Beacon Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life; A Radio Play on Stage, while Festive Social Dances with professional dance choreographers and live music of the golden era got the good vibes flowing. Our DJ Workshop gave teenagers a hands-on experience with Ben Vardi from Zazim and his very BIG soundsystem!
Beacon on the Road also enabled the engagement of our ever-growing pool of brilliant freelance artists, musicians, writers, directors, puppet makers, stage managers, technicians and more! Partner venues have included:
