Enjoy Sunday afternoon concert with students from Scotland's national conservatoire in our Gallery Suite.

This concert continues the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's exploration of collaboration between singers and instrumentalists.

The programme centres on a selection from the 25 Scottish Songs arranged by Ludwig van Beethoven, Op. 108, for voice with piano trio (piano, violin and cello), commissioned in 1818 by the Edinburgh publisher George Thomson and offer a fascinating blend of Scottish melody and poetry with Viennese classicism.

Further works in the programme include:

  • Jules Massenet – Élégie (mezzo-soprano, cello and piano)

  • Joseph Haydn – Gypsy Trio

  • Sergei Rachmaninov – Cello Sonata, third movement

  • Johann Sebastian Bach – Double Concerto, second movement

Please note seating is unreserved.
