An Introduction to Creative Writing: Unleash Your Story (2–4pm)

This supportive, beginner-friendly workshop is for aspiring writers, curious storytellers, and anyone who wants to express themselves through words. No previous writing experience is needed – just an interest in exploring ideas and stories.

Through discussion and practical exercises, participants will explore the fundamentals of creative writing, including where ideas come from, how stories are shaped, and how characters, setting, dialogue, and point of view bring writing to life. We’ll look at techniques such as freewriting, sensory detail, and “show, don’t tell”, using short prompts to help kickstart new work and build confidence.

The session is designed as a safe, encouraging space with no pressure and no critique – only positive feedback and shared discovery. By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical tools, fresh inspiration, and the confidence to continue writing, with the reassurance that everyone has a story worth telling.
